Counseling patients, explaining medications, catching drug interactions, and being an information resource for physicans was rewarding. Though in a busy retail setting this comprised perhaps 20% or less of my job. Most aspects of retail pharmacy were repetitive and perfunctory. I began studying for the GRE in preparation for graduate school and also decided to take a year's hiatus and spend time studying in Norway. I wanted to get to know my Norwegian heritiage, hone my language skills, and take some time off to think about what I wanted to do with my life.
